During lunch today I stopped by a local Gamestop and picked up my copy of Halo 3. I didn't get much work done this afternoon since I was wanting to play it. When I got home I put it in and sat back to enjoy brand new Halo! The game started up with a newer Microsoft/Bungie opening and then the opening menu screen appeared. It looks very much like Halo 2, just with a simpler looking menu. Anyway I started a campaign to check it out for a bit and ended up spending an hour filled with amazing new Halo graphics, music, and ACTION! From what I've played this game is blowing me away. I love how the story starts out, it follows Halo 2 nicely. The graphics are awesome, even though some areas aren't too detailed. The lighting/screen effects and amazing framerate of the game totally make up for this and make it look awesome. Now I'm saying some areas, mainly textures, are sort of simple because I'm sort of comparing this to Resistance on the PS3. I spent last weekend playing that game nonstop and some areas in it were very detailed and it ran great, so I have it stuck in my head and was wondering if Halo 3 would top this. Well I think it has or is pretty close. Even though some areas seem simple, some scenes are insanely realistic looking. Now you may ask yourself why I haven't played more than an hour yet. Well the answer is simple, I have other things I need to do first. And plus I've declared tomorrow Halo 3 Day! I took the day off from work and am going to play Halo 3 all day, with some possible Heavenly Sword breaks when the Master Chief needs to reload.
