First of all another great Mario game, now in HD! Great first title of the Wii U. This one plays a lot like 'The New Mario Brothers' on the Wii. You still can play multiplayer at the same time. And it show pauses at odd times when you die or get a powerup. But now you can have a person use the new Wii U gamepad and use the touchscreen to make blocks appear to help the others. Or you can play single player with the gamepad. You can also play this on the gamepad without the TV on, which works pretty good. The game like all Mario games is about you saving the princess. The levels are all new and look great. There are some challenging levels, but most are pretty easy to find all the coins on a play through or two. There are a couple new suits that are fun, but most of the powerups are the same. I wish there was more variety with the suits like some Mario games, but all the good ones are there. They pretty much took the New Mario Brothers and gave it a HD look with all new levels and some powerups. But it's still a really fun Mario game. Plus they integrated the new social element of the Wii U so you can leave comments or tips on levels you finish. And it shows you what others are saying about levels, especially if they are hard. The social element is fun, but it's not a major focus of the game. Which is good, we don't need a Mario MMO.
